Women in the Channel Heads to TEX LA

According to Recode, by 2020, there will be 1.4 million jobs available in computing-related fields. U.S. graduates are on track to fill 29 percent of those jobs, with women filling just three percent. And overall, the percentage of women in the tech workspace averages to just around 25-30%. Thankfully though, the #womenintech initiative is here and growing rapidly. Heck, just type in the hashtag on Twitter, or search Women in Tech on Google, and you’ll be inspired by what is out there encouraging women to persevere in this field. The innovations, the inspiring models, the programs that exist will all surely help propel women to new levels.

As a woman in the tech and telecom space myself, I’m excited to share the news that JSA has partnered with Women in the Channel (WiC) to bring a new, unique program to our upcoming TEX LA event this Nov. 14-15 at Montage Beverly Hills.  WiC’s 120-minute interactive workshop, “Confidence & Connections: Keys to Women’s Leadership,” will take place at TEX LA on Nov. 15 from 1-3 PM in Contessa Room III at Montage Beverly Hills, and is open to all female TEX attendees.

WiC’s “Confidence & Connections: Keys to Women’s Leadership,” features workshop speakers and facilitators Nancy Ridge, Co-founder and Board Member of Women in the Channel and Executive Vice President of Telecom Brokers; and Khali Henderson, Board Member of Women in the Channel, and Senior Partner of BuzzTheory Strategies. The workshop also will incorporate brainstorming, group discussions, live polling, suggested actions and networking.
