Why We Expand – From Waistlines to Colocation and nothing in between…

Dean is expanding = Bad!

That’s right, Fall is just around the corner and thus begins my annual waistline migration. It’s nearly time for the belt buckle stem to get reacquainted with its winter hole; time to pull jeans from the dryer a little early and start “sucking it in.”  But why? Why is it that my waistline is tied so closely to the Earth’s axis?  While I’d like to believe my tight britches are somehow tied to seasonal shifts, the answer, unfortunately, is tied directly to my decreased activity level (which I blame on the seasonal shifts, so, you know, not my fault).

While I’ve learned to deal with seeing less of my feet during the cooler months, it did get me to thinking about the paradox* between my INACTIVITY = expansion (Bad) and Colo Atl’s ACTIVITY = expansion (Good).

Colo Atl is expanding = Good!

To catch you up, we’ve just been sent some new construction pics from our friend, Tim Kiser, at Colo Atl. Looks like he’s purchased additional space in his 55 Marietta facility in Atlanta and is now in the process of designing and building out his space to accommodate new colocation requests and future requests. So, why is Colo Atl expanding? - Lots of activity! Poof.

Activity...

  1. Rebranding: Colo Atl has only been Colo Atl for 6 months (formerly JT Communications)
  2. Major tenant wins (see here)
  3. Events: has attended / served as expert panelist in 4 events in last 5 months
  4. Certification: SAS 70 to SSAE 16
  5. Social: Colo Atl is a relationship-building machine (Twitter @coloatl / LinkedIn)
