APEX 2013 is an awards, conference and technology challenge taking place September 10-11 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Denver. The event kicks off on the evening of Tuesday, September 10, with the annual APEX Awards. The APEX Awards have been presented every year since 2001 and recognize Colorado’s technology and innovation excellence. The APEX conference takes place on Wednesday, September 11. This year’s event includes a mix of keynote presentations and panels focused on big data and analytics, cloud security and entrepreneurship. In a new format this year, the APEX Challenge is a technology startup competition that brings together 10 companies to vie for $20,000 in prizes, judged by an esteemed panel of local Colorado innovators and leaders, including former Bronco Eddie McCaffrey. ![ViaWest sponsors CTA's APEX 2013 conference and awards](https://static.hsstatic.net/BlogImporterAssetsUI/ex/missing-image.png "APEX") “ViaWest is an active and engaged member of the Denver tech community and a loyal supporter of CTA and our annual APEX event,” states Erik Mitisek, CEO of the Colorado Technology Association. “We are proud to have ViaWest’s support again this year at APEX 2013 as we showcase the best in technology innovation and leadership in Colorado.” You can learn more about next week’s APEX event at the [Colorado Technology Association web site](http://www.coloradotechnology.org/).
