Governor Hickenlooper addressed ViaWest employees and members of the media as part of the ceremony. ![](https://static.hsstatic.net/BlogImporterAssetsUI/ex/missing-image.png "VWGovEvent1")Colorado Secretary of Technology & CIO, Kristin Russell was also onsite at the event. Kristin commented during her address that in the last year Colorado has attracted about 30 new tech companies and 5,000 new tech jobs. A statistic that truly proves the value companies like ViaWest bring to the area. Denver has been the location of ViaWest’s headquarters since the company’s inception in 1999 and this new location will continue to provide access to the region’s vibrant business population. In the past five years, ViaWest has doubled the size of its operations resulting in a positive impact on the Colorado economy through job creation and annual revenue growth.
