TNN on the Road is in its backyard of New York City for the 2012 Ethernet Expo. It was clear that the top concern of attendees at this year’s conference was focused on those still recovering from Sandy. And here at JSA, our thoughts continue to be with those recovering from the storm.
The event began with tw telecom’s SVP of Business Development & Strategy, Michael Rouleau giving the keynote address. Michael gave an overview of the state of Ethernet today, which included a look at how tw telecom has evolved with the changing times. Through his presentation, Michael noted how carrier networks have evolved to meet the on-demand needs that today’s applications are driving. The IT architecture is changing, and the biggest challenge that businesses face bridges the gap with integrating applications.
The need for on-demand services, has been the driving force for tw telecom in its shift from delivering circuits to delivering services, Michael noted. Customers today need the ability to scale services with real-time visibility into their bandwidth use. tw telecom’s Intelligent Network and Dynamic Capacity offerings allow customers the ability to double or triple capacity when needed. tw telecom’s ability to listen and understand its customers’ has allowed for their business model to grow along with changing technologies. Michael’s keynote set a great tone for the day and was referenced by many of the following panel sessions.
