By introducing Thunderbird to NYIIX, members are now able to instantly connect and exchange traffic. Additionally, Thunderbird allows members a reduced ramp up time when setting up peering connections. Since its inception in 1996, NYIIX is New York’s largest and most active peering exchange. Data center- and carrier-neutral with over 130 members, NYIIX offers the most comprehensive membership list in New York peering market. “Adding Thunderbird to our NYIIX serves as another prime example of ways Telehouse is constantly looking to improve,” states Akio Sugeno, Vice President of Internet Engineering, Operations and Business Development at TELEHOUSE America. “We are confident that our current and future members will find this upgrade beneficial to their overall NYIIX peering experience.” NYIIX also offers a new reseller program.
