TELEHOUSE America has formed a strategic partnership with Cube Optics. Cube Optics will provide Telehouse with advanced networking solutions that use the latest in Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) technology. Telehouse is currently using Cube Optics’ DWDM solution to connect two of its four major NYIIX peering sites: 60 Hudson and 85 Tenth Avenue. Telehouse plans to deploy this solution across the entire NYIIX network and migrate to a next-generation platform in order to improve overall performance and reliability.
The incorporation of DWDM technology across the Telehouse network allows Telehouse to quickly expand the capacity of its existing routes without needing to upgrade the fiber or incur higher costs. Telehouse will also be using line protection devices to provide full redundancy at lower costs, as compared to a dark fiber solution. The partnership, providing advanced network technologies, will better allow Telehouse to continue to meet demand and manage its growing bandwidth needs.
