This expansion enables RCN Business to offer its full suite of communications services, including Dedicated Internet Access (DIA), Hosted Voice, PRI/SIP Trunks, Video (HDTV), as well as Ethernet E-Line, E-LAN and dark fiber services to small, medium, and enterprise businesses colocated in the facility. The new connectivity options for Telehouse and RCN clients offer direct, private connectivity to hundreds of fiber lit buildings in New York City, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and Eastern Pennsylvania via the RCN network. As part of the deployment, RCN Business will establish dual entrances into the data center for added reliability and redundancy.
“New York City is a global technology hub and we’ve seen increased demand in the metro area for high-bandwidth, high-quality, network services,” states Michael Carrosquilla, SVP Commercial Services at RCN Business. “By extending our network into Telehouse’s technology-rich data center, it allows colocation customers and service providers in the facility the ability to tap into RCN’s robust telecommunications infrastructure, providing advanced solutions to meet their network and communications requirements.”
