Padtec Lights Up Central America

Padtec, a global manufacturer of optical solutions, announced today that UFINET has deployed Padtec’s DWDM equipment throughout its Central America telecommunication routes.

As a carrier to carriers, UFINET offers dark fiber, capacity transport, satellite services and colocation to telecommunications and service providers. Its network spans more than 13,000 kilometers, connecting countries throughout Central America, from southern Mexico, through Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama.

Marked by next–generation technologies, Padtec’s equipment suite allows carriers greater flexibility and capacity to adapt to changing traffic networks. The equipment provided by Padtec to UFINET is based on OTN transponders, which provide better performance for transparent optical transport.
