DE-CIX recently announced the establishment of its new open, carrier-neutral Internet exchange in New York City as a part of its initiative to expand into North America. DE-CIX New York offers the same resilient service, which is currently serving nearly 600 global networks in its Frankfurt exchange. The initial backbone is designed to provide up to 320 Gbps of capacity and is capable of being upgraded as dictated by demand.

With the help of OCG and a growing list of customers, DE-CIX New York is expected to be one of the five largest Internet exchanges in the world by 2020.
