Today, [Optica Network Technologies](http://www.opticanetworktechnologies.com), a nationally recognized designer and builder of complex wireless and wireline communications networks, announced that Ed Dennis will join its team effective October 17th as the new Director of Safety & Training. ![](https://static.hsstatic.net/BlogImporterAssetsUI/ex/missing-image.png)An industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience leading companies in safety training and planning, Mr. Dennis will head up Optica’s safety training and oversee all safety protocols for the company’s work. Mr. Dennis has served in the tower construction and wind energy industries. He has extensive experience developing and implementing safety programs, leading training sessions and ensuring that all work is completed in line with federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations. Giant players in telecom, including AT&T, Sprint and Verizon top Mr. Dennis’ list of clients served by him, and often he is asked to be a presenter at many of the industry’s leading safety forums. He holds numerous safety and regulation certifications, including OSHA Outreach Trainer/Telecom Construction; OSHA Authorized Trainer: 3-Day Tower Safety; DBI/SALA Competent Climber/Rescuer Trainer; Radio Frequency Safety International Advanced Trainer; and many others. Most recently, Mr. Dennis served as the director of Safety and Training at Com-Tech Construction for 12 years. Prior to his work at Com-Tech, Mr. Dennis led safety and training programs at dozens of tower companies across the U.S., served on towers teams as project manager and lead trainer and served in the U.S. Navy as a non-commissioned officer.
