Optelian today announced the appointment of Dr. John Yam as the company’s Asia-Pacific Regional Business Development Manager. Optelian is a trusted international provider of optical transport systems. With the company’s recent accomplishments in Myanmar, this hiring strengthens Optelian’s commitment to providing advanced packet-optical networking solutions to other Asian markets.
With more than 25 years’ experience in telecom sales and business development across Asia, Dr. Yam will head Optelian’s business development efforts in this region. A professional engineer with an M.B.A. and Ph.D., Dr. Yam has worked with telecommunications and IT networking companies, including ECI Telecom, Intel and PCCW/Hutchison CA, for more than 25 years. He has contributed to the success of several U.S. telecommunication startup vendors in the Asian market.
