Three … two … one … GO!
Last week, 29 energized and fun-loving Optelian team members in Ottawa jumped onto a 29-seat bike for a wild ride. Yes – 29 seats!
Donning rain ponchos and a playful attitude, the team braved a rainy day to raise more than CAN$5,000 for heart disease and stroke research in the Heart&Stroke Big Bike event in Ottawa.
Sponsored by Canada’s Heart & Stroke Foundation, Big Bike is an annual ride that last year gathered more than 50,000 riders across 200 Canadian communities and helped to raise more than CAN$7 million for heart disease and stroke research.
This year, Optelian’s team joined the race, which covers 2 kilometers and takes about 20 minutes to complete. The race takes place in most weather conditions, reaffirming the Optelian team’s hearty spirit and dedication to a worthy cause.
The Heart&Stroke Big Bike gathers hundreds of companies, communities and other groups across Canada each year for races that take place in each province across the country. To find out more about the Big Bike organization, visit www.bigbike.ca.
