Global Capacity’s One Marketplace Access Exchange Recognized For Outstanding Cost Saving Solutions
Writing about telecom expense management (TEM) immediately after blowing the lot on Christmas and New Year’s festivities is making my heart race! It’s nearly impossible not to think about my own checkbook (though I’m not sure if I even have one of those anymore). This year I spent and then forgot about spending what I spent. Then I spent more - and then forgot again. You get the picture. Seemed putting a few days (and glasses of Pinot) between the hemorrhages made it easier to keep going (read: easier to forget). At some point I knew it was getting out of control but the gamble almost made it more fun! Figured the wife would get wise and remove the credit card numbers that had now been permanently rubbed clean from the computer keyboard. Ah, but no, she’d been doing the Exact. Same. Thing. **deep breaths** So, yeah, great Christmas and New Years – so “great” that I suspect we’ll remember it well into the Summer – when we’re vacationing in the back yard – again. In a nutshell – we spent and spent and spent some more. No rules. No oversight. No Price Checks or Account Balances. No double checking or cross checking. No communication. No cost savings. No expense management. Just expense.
**dramatic pause**
And now the telecom entrée…
TMC, a global, integrated media company, has named Global Capacity’s One Marketplace Access Exchange as a recipient of the 2011 INTERNET TELEPHONY TEM Excellence Award presented by INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine. One Marketplace is TEM…and then some.
According to Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor, Telecom Expense Management encompasses a number of different business processes, including the sourcing of telecommunications services; the ordering, provisioning and support; inventory management to track all telecommunications services; invoice management to pay and track financial documents; usage management to track usage against billed services; dispute management when erroneous charges appear on a bill; and business intelligence to track overall TEM program results and reporting. Perhaps one of the most important elements of Telecom Expense Management is the fact that it easily brings together technology data and people that normally exist in silos and ensure they have a centralized and collaborative ecosystem. In this environment, all those participating can be interlinked and integrate different systems for communication. In other words, ordering can talk to inventory, inventory can communicate with billing, ticketing has a dialogue with inventory and so on (hand firmly planted in forehead). This, friends, is exactly what Global Capacity’s One Marketplace Access Exchange does!
One Marketplace Access Exchange is a transparent and efficient way to buy and sell global access solutions more cost effectively. The platform offers automated pricing, ordering and provisioning of access networks, easily accessible via an online interface, along with powerful network optimization algorithms. Through a common network interconnection into One Marketplace Access Exchange, customers can procure and implement multi-vendor access solutions more efficiently; saving money, increasing productivity, and gaining a competitive advantage.
“One Marketplace Access Exchange is designed and built to improve efficiency, while streamlining and optimizing the pricing, procurement and provisioning of access network services. The result is a direct improvement in EBITDA,” states Patrick Shutt, Global Capacity CEO.
