"Hibernia Atlantic has been promoting the fibre optic cable throughout the island of Ireland," stated Mr. Thorvardarson. "This has resulted in the recent announcement of Tibus, a subsidiary of UTV Media plc, as a partner for marketing and supporting the first ever fibre optic cable capacity to come directly into Northern Ireland directly from the USA. Other announcements have included, RTE selecting Hibernia Media, a subsidiary of Hibernia Atlantic, for high performance, fibre network capacity for international contribution links for its television news services and programmes. Locally, North West Electronics has expanded its wireless network with Hibernia Altantic's fibre connectivity for Project Kelvin. So there are all sorts of interesting and wonderful things taking place because of Kelvin."
"I also spoke at the New York – New Belfast Conference this week in New York City, which showcased various aspects of Northern Ireland, and provided businesses the opportunity to learn from best practice," commented Mr. Thorvardarson. "This was a great opportunity to discuss how important the Kelvin infrastructure is when businesses are making a decision to locate in Northern Ireland."
