Application-Aware Networking at MEF16 It’s teamwork at its best! MRV announced today their collaboration to demonstrate a NFV-based virtual customer premise equipment (vCPE) solution that enables next generation application awareness at the service providers’ access network. Compared to the traditional approach, NFV-based application awareness provides substantial benefits such as reduced time-to-market for new services, decreased operational expenditures and an improved customer quality of experience (QoE). This joint demonstration will be held within the live Proof of Concept (PoC) Showcase at the MEF16 global networking conference, taking place November 7-10, 2016 at the Hilton Baltimore Inner Harbor Hotel, Baltimore, Md.  The MEF16 Showcase will feature leading-edge implementations of agile/dynamic, assured, and orchestrated Third Network services with Lifecycle Service Orchestration (LSO), SDN, NFV, and Carrier Ethernet 2.0 (CE 2.0) innovations. “MRV strives to promote and develop advanced, next generation networking solutions to address today’s most complex network challenges confronting service providers,” stated Zeev Draer, Vice President of Strategic Marketing for MRV.  “This joint proof of concept will highlight best-of-breed solutions that utilize virtualization to enhance visibility at Layer 7, service delivery and the overall user experience. Through innovative architecture design, MRV continues to shape the infrastructure of the future, and empowers our customers to access additional revenue streams all while reducing overall cost of ownership for network operations.” MRV is available for meetings at MEF16.
