Metcom Provides High-Capacity Bandwidth to Long Island MacArthur Airport

Metcom Network Services (MNS) announced this morning, that it has signed JVC Broadcasting as its first customer for all-fiber network services at Long Island MacArthur Airport.

JVC Broadcasting, a Long Island MacArthur Airport tenant, is one of the largest independently owned and locally operated radio broadcast, entertainment and event companies in the Long Island and coastal Connecticut regions.

Since JVC is a broadcast company, they need highly reliable, secure and redundant services to ensure their 4.5 million listeners are able to enjoy their favorite radio stations and broadcast programs without interruption. It’s also extremely important that there are no broadcast interruptions for advertising reasons. Dead air during an ad does not make for happy advertisers!

MNS understands the needs of JVC Broadcasting and has the tools to deliver via its extensive New York-based footprint and years of expertise in the field.

Long Island MacArthur Airport, which received FAA designation as an official New York/New Jersey Metro Airport in 2011, serves more than 5,000 people a day, making it one of the top 90 airports in the United States. The airport primarily serves residents of Suffolk and Nassau counties, but is also used by other travelers looking for a less-congested alternative to LaGuardia and JFK airports.
