Labor Day Weekend is almost upon us. And in the telecom world, that means the Fall Events Season has arrived as well.
Lightower Fiber Networks, the premier provider of custom, high-capacity network services that ensure optimal application and business performance, is kicking things off right away, as it announced today its participation in the Commonwealth of Virginia Innovative Technology Symposium (COVITS) on Sept. 3 in Richmond, Va. The event is designed to help spread best practices and spur innovation in the public sector in Virginia. The agenda for the event covers the latest in digital government solutions and current policy issues.
Lightower is in the final stages of a major 1,500-mile expansion of its all-fiber, high-performance network throughout Virginia and the Washington, D.C. metro region, as part of an on-going expansion strategy. In May 2012, Lightower began constructing more than 1,100 route miles of high fiber-count network blanketing most of Virginia and into North Carolina. Additionally, Lightower has already added 400 route miles in the Washington, D.C. metro region, including parts of northern Virginia and the Maryland suburbs. That segment was completed in April 2014. Combining this new network with the existing network in the area, Lightower has enhanced its footprint, creating an even denser network with greater scope and span for the growing number of organizations that require all-fiber connectivity.
Lightower will participate in an array of discussion topics at COVITS, including Virginia’s leadership in cyber security, maximizing the use of cloud technology in government’s delivery of services, innovative technologies in the workplace, turning data into actionable information,a legislative view of technology and public policy, and much more.
