Jaymie Scotto Cutaia sat down with Michael Elling, Principal of Information Velocity Partner to discuss the America's bandwidth deficit on JSA TV. Michael has been covering this sector for over 23 years, since it has been competitive in 1983. In this interview, Michael describes the history of bandwidth and especially how it has evolved over the last 30 years. He also talks about what customers should be receiving in terms of coverage, speed and performance verses what they are actually getting. He cites Fast Internet Free Everywhere (FIFE) as a way to provide bandwidth access to America in an effective, competitive way moving forward.
He continues to talk about how an objective, neutral dialogue could be beneficial for both monopoly and pro competitive forces to under these issues and begin to work together. Michael illustrates the framework, InfoStack, and how we can both quantify and qualify information.
