With a goal of raising money and awareness to support children with congenital heart defects and their families, Mighty Oakes Heart Foundation has raised nearly $450,000 from its inaugural ‘A Mighty Night’ gala. The amount completely exceeded expectations, providing a strong financial platform for the non-profit to achieve its goal of significantly expanding the number of families it can provide grants to each year. Attendees of the sold-out, black-tie event had a fabulous night of food, dancing, live auction, boutique pop-up shop, and raffle. They also were honored by a special guest video by none other than late-night talk show host, Jimmy Kimmel! Check out Kimmel’s video message of support where he praised the work of the MOHF and encouraged participants to donate, recalling the life-saving surgery his son received shortly after being born with a congenital heart defect. Across America, roughly 40,000 babies are born each year with heart defects and well over one million children currently live with these challenging conditions. The MOHF works to provide critical financial support and comfort that enables families to focus on the love that empowers them to face the fight and focus on healing.
