Yesterday, Hibernia Atlantic announced big news regarding their newest subsea cable system, Project Express. Built to support high frequency and algorithmic trading communities, Project Express will offer the fastest connection from New York to London offering traders latency sub 60 milliseconds.
The new cable system to be completed in summer of 2012 is the first transAtlantic cable system to be built in almost 10 years. Demand in the high frequency trading market is driving Hibernia to strengthen its already fast Global Financial Network (GFN) routes connecting key financial cities throughout Canada, United States and Europe. Hibernia's GFN is a boon for financial firms requiring the lowest latency routes to conduct trades faster and with the completion of Project Express clients can receive even faster connections between London, Frankfurt, Chicago, New York and Toronto.
