Hibernia Atlantic CEO to Speak Tomorrow, June 10, in NYC at 9:40 AM at New York-New Belfast Conference

Bjarni Thorvardarson, the CEO of Hibernia Atlantic, will be speaking tomorrow, June 10, at the Ritz Carlton New York, Battery Park in downtown NYC. The event is called New York-New Belfast Conference, which showcases various aspects of Northern Ireland and provides businesses the opportunity to learn from best practice.

This is also a great opportunity for Mr. Thorvardarson to discuss the importance of the Project Kelvin infrastructure, a project his company was awarded by the Department of Enterprise, Trade & Investment (DETI) for Northern Island and the Irish Department of Communications and Natural Resources (DCENR). Hibernia is deploying an extensive submarine and terrestrial cable to directly connect Northern Ireland to North America.

This new infrastructure is the necessary ingredient for large-bandwidth global companies to look to the island of Ireland for further development and commerce. This infrastructure is also allowing local Irish companies to have the necessary capacity to deploy the latest technologies, such as streaming video and video conferencing, further enhancing trade opportunities.

Mr. Thorvardarson will be speaking tomorrow at 9:40 AM on "The Compelling Proposition of Belfast" panel, sponsored by Northern Ireland Bureau. The chair of the panel will be Terrence Brannigan, Chairman of CBI (Northern Ireland). Other panelists include Gary Hanley, Senior Vice President of North America, Invest NI; Paul Priestly, Permanent Secretary Department of Regional Development; and Anne McReynolds, CEO of The MAC.
