Erick Contag, COO of GlobeNet, was awarded the Global Telecoms Business Power 100 Award. The GTB 100 Award is an honor bestowed upon the most powerful 100 executives in the telecoms industry and is featured in Global Telecoms Business’ September/October issue.
Under Mr. Contag’s lead, GlobeNet has become the first submarine cable provider to offer carrier Ethernet in South America. Its carrier Ethernet provides direct connection routes for Latin American providers. GlobeNet is ensuring that the rapid expansion of the Latin and South American markets continues through cable system upgrades, a low-latency route to BOVESPA, and an expansion into Manaus. GlobeNet also offers carriers and service providers high performance, low latency network services for addressing global sporting events such as the upcoming World Cup in Rio de Janeiro.
Mr. Contag brings more than 20 years of sales, marketing, business development, strategy and corporate management expertise to GlobeNet. He is responsible for the strategic management of GlobeNet’s business operations and expansion into new regions. Prior to joining GlobeNet, he held executives positions in the U.S and Latin America and served on the Board of Directors for several companies and organizations.
