After a year’s absence from telecom (grinding it out in the healthcare industry – I know – ack!), I’m back and it feels good. I think. Some things have changed (seeing a lot more instances of VOIP – it’s VoIP – for the record) and others have remained the same. A good idea, is still a good idea. A good idea that ultimately saves folks time and money, now that’s a GREAT idea! Such is the case with Global Capacity’s One Marketplace solution. I know what you’re thinking, “Here we go! Of course you do, you help to market their products!” And that’s where you’d be right! But the fact remains that this solution addresses an issue that’s been lipped about seemingly forever – efficiently and economically providing network connection across disparate and fragmented legacy / next-gen / cans and string infrastructure. And that’s precisely what Global Capacity’s One Marketplace does…among other things, but I’m on a word limit.
Global Capacity recently announced a deal to provide One Marketplace services to FiberLight, one of the nation’s leading providers of mission critical, high performance fiber optic networks. As a member of the One Marketplace Access Exchange, FiberLight’s on-net solutions will now be available to other One Marketplace users who currently generate in excess of 100,000 automated quotes per month for access solutions. This creates new revenue opportunities for FiberLight to sell high margin, on-net services. Also as part of the deal, FiberLight will provide Global Capacity with 400 miles of fiber, creating additional on-net connectivity capabilities and solutions for the One Marketplace Access Exchange. A good idea, yes? A no-brainer? Yep.
One Marketplace is not just a good idea, but is currently providing unprecedented efficiencies in network procurement, pricing, management and design. Just ask FiberLight and a host of other carriers and end-users that are championing this service.
