The brand change follows the successful[acquisition of FLTG](https://www.firstlight.net/firstlight-completes-acquisition-of-finger-lakes-technologies-group/) by FirstLight in September  and marks yet another exciting milestone for the company. > “The integration of FLTG is an important development and sets the stage for FirstLight’s continued growth in 2018,” commented [Kurt Van Wagenen](https://www.firstlight.net/company/management-team/kurt-van-wagenen/), President and CEO of FirstLight. “Now as one team and one company, we are well positioned to continue serving the fiber-based infrastructure needs of carriers and enterprise businesses throughout our growing footprint in the Northeast.” This latest development is one of a series of exciting transactions for the Company in little more than a year.  FirstLight also acquired and combined operations with [Oxford Networks](https://www.firstlight.net/firstlight-fiber-and-oxford-networks-combine-operations/),  [Sovernet Communications](https://www.firstlight.net/firstlight-and-sovernet-communications-combine-operations/) and [186 Communications](https://www.firstlight.net/firstlight-completes-acquisition-of-186-communications/).   FirstLight now operates approximately 14,000 route miles of high-capacity fiber connecting nearly 8,000 locations and twelve data centers in six states. > “The rebrand of FLTG to FirstLight follows the successful rebranding of Oxford Networks, BayRing Communications, Sovernet Communications, ION Communications and 186 Communications under the FirstLight brand, and is yet another testament to our team’s hard work and our overall commitment to providing high-quality infrastructure services and exceptional, locally-based support to an expanding customer base,” stated Maura Mahoney, Vice President of Marketing & Product Management of FirstLight.
