FirstLight Fiber announced today the addition of Bill LaPerch, former Chief Executive Offiver, President and Director of AboveNet, to its Board of Directors. Mr. LaPerch brings over 25 years experience in the telecommunications industry to the board. The Board will be able to leverage Mr. LaPerch’s extensive experience with customer, partner and vendor relationships, as well as in operations and strategic planning in order to gain additional insight and assist the Company in executing on its plans for future growth.
As CEO of AboveNet, a high bandwidth fiber-optic connectivity solutions provider, Mr. LaPerch was responsible for transforming it into one of the country’s premier telecommunications providers, offering fiber-based services to Fortune 1000 companies and service providers in both the U.S. and UK. In addition to his success at AboveNet, Mr. LaPerch also served in key executive management positions at MCI Telecommunications and NYNEX Corporation. He presently serves on several boards including Imation, a global scalable storage and data security company, and Digital Realty Trust, the leading owner and manager of corporate datacenters and Internet gateways.
