Emergency Preparedness a Hot Topic at DCD Converged New York 2014 - tw telecom's Robert Bianco is Back to Speak

Robert Bianco at DCD Converged 2013. He will speak at next week's DCD Converged on the "“Emergency Preparedness and Resilience" panel.

tw telecom Manhattan Vice President and General Manager, Robert Bianco will grace the stage again for Data Center Dynamics Converged New York. This year’s event takes place Tuesday, Mar 11 at the Marriott Marquis in NYC.  As an expert on Business Continuity Disaster Recovery (BCDR) solutions, and after a successful panel discussion held at last year’s Converged on post-Superstorm Sandy, Bianco was invited to speak again at DCD this year on “Emergency Preparedness and Resilience.”  The panel takes place Tuesday, Mar. 11 at 2:10 p.m. in Hall 1.

The panel focuses on the regional challenges faced by critical environments in the aftermath of events such as Hurricane Sandy and explores models for resiliency moving forward. The panel will explore a refreshed outlook on how data center users and operators are facing risk and get the perspective of large corporate users on urban risk and how municipalities are responding. Panelists participating in addition to Bianco include Peter M. Curtis, President & CEO, Power Management Concepts LLC; Sudhir Kalra, Executive Director, Technology and Data, Morgan Stanley; Shaun F. Mooney, RPA, Director of Infrastructure, Colliers; Rick Reynolds, Vice President of National Accounts & Southern Region Operations Manager, ORR Protection Systems; and Christopher Strom, Urban Land Institute, ICT Subcommittee.

“In this day and age, the discussion of emergency preparation and resilience remains important as ever. Every day we are here, there is potential for emergency situations, whether storms, power outages, cyber security issues, or other. While we hope these disaster scenarios never occur, it is important to continually review, practice and fine tune a business’s BCDR plans to be completely prepared,” comments Bianco. “I look forward to speaking with fellow peers at DCD Converged New York on this crucial topic, and sharing my insights on reviewing our industry’s challenges, and furthermore, how tw telecom empowers area businesses by providing access to affordable and reliable disaster recovery solutions.”

In the past year, tw telecom announced its partnership with Bluelock, combining its Intelligent Network capabilities with Bluelock’s Recovery-as-a-Service. As a result, tw telecom customers have access to an affordable and reliable disaster recovery solution via a network that aligns and scales based on customer usage.
