Austin, TX – DECEMBER 1, 2010 - Data Foundry, a leading provider of wholesale and retail data center outsourcing, colocation, and disaster recovery services, announces today that Mattress Firm, a leading specialty bedding retailer has selected Data Foundry's robust disaster recovery solutions for fully redundant, secure colocation and diverse network connectivity to support its data infrastructure and e-commerce operations.
As a leading mattress retailer with over 600 locations across 22 states, Mattress Firm offers its customers a large selection of quality, brand name bedding products and competitive pricing with knowledgeable, well-trained associates. With its operations based in Houston, Texas, Mattress Firm utilizes Data Foundry's secure Austin data center as a redundant site, backing up its core data infrastructure. Mattress Firm's primary e-commerce operations also reside within Data Foundry's carrier neutral facility with access to multiple Tier 1 carriers for redundant and diverse network connectivity.

This fully redundant facility resides on a 40–acre, master-planned development with capabilities of over 100 megawatts of power supported by the Texas Power Grid, a reliable power source independent from the nation's primary power grids for added redundancy and diversity. The premium site also features dedicated worksite recovery options including dedicated offices, conference rooms, and work stations so customers can continue operations if their own facility is rendered inoperable. The next-generation facility includes fully concurrently maintainable power, cooling, and network systems with N+1 to 2N+1 design. With plans to migrate some of its data infrastructure to Texas 1 once complete, Mattress Firm can further ensure high availability across all of its technology platforms.
