This week, United Fiber & Data continued laying the fiber in northern New Jersey for its 375-mile low-latency route between New York City and Ashburn, VA.  The UFD network provides a high-capacity fiber pathway that delivers an alternative to the traditional “Amtrak Corridor” between New York and Ashburn.

This large spool of 864-count fiber is ready to be run between Harrison, NJ, under the Passaic River and into Newark.
United Fiber & Data labels the fiber before pulling it through the conduit system.
UFD runs the fiber in ¾-mile intervals through the conduit system from Harrison, NJ.

Once finished, the completely diverse network will bypass the traditional I-95 route and instead stretch through central Pennsylvania, reaching Allentown, Reading, Lancaster and York, before traveling to Frederick, Maryland and Ashburn, Virginia.
