Citynet, the IT Brand of Hall AG, Extends Network with MRV’s Newest Equipment

MRV Communications, the global provider of innovative packet and optical solutions, announced today the expansion of its longstanding partnership with Citynet, a regional carrier network in Austria. Citynet serves the Inn Valley’s large enterprise and many residential customers, as well as many mountain ski resorts and lift infrastructure. Citynet also provides DSL, dedicated fiber, VPN, IP TV and Cloud Services to customers within the region. The company has been successfully building services for its customers for more than 10 years with MRV Communications Packet and Optical equipment.

Citynet deploys OptiSwitch® devices as Customer Premises Equipment (CPE), aggregation and core platforms. Business critical services are also deployed with MRV’s Fiber Driver® and OptiDriver™ for optical transport to Citynet enterprise customers. Citynet has been extending its network with MRV’s newest products this year and deployed MRV's latest optical transport flagship product line, OptiDriver. New deployments enable to deliver substantially more high-capacity bandwidth services to the enterprise customers and expand service footprint to more regions via leased fiber optic infrastructure.

OptiDriver is designed to optimize both 10Gbps and 100Gbps applications with the industry’s most compact, low power, and flexible product line. OptiDriver is fully integrated into MRV’s advanced Pro-Vision® service provisioning and management platform, which operates seamlessly in a mixed network of MRV’s Optical and Carrier Ethernet systems.
