Allied Fiber’s CEO Presents on Backhaul Design & Operations

Hunter Newby, Allied Fiber’s CEO, spoke this morning on Backhaul Design and Operations at the Broadband Expo  in Dallas, TX. Hunter’s presentation focused on mobile traffic expansion and the importance of bringing Fiber to the Tower (FTTT). With mobile data traffic increasing rapidly, a strong network plan needs to be in place to meet the demand of users. Mobile operators are connecting cell sites to fiber as a way to deal with the amount of data usage present today and are making claims to increase the amount of cell sites that will connect to fiber in the future.

Allied Fiber’s Network plan focuses on dark fiber connectivity to microwave towers and access to microwave backhaul networks allowing greater reach of cell towers back to the dark fiber ring and greater access to higher capacity. Mobile data traffic is projected to continue to grow over the next few years and today’s network preparations will play a vital role in tomorrow’s mobile consumer’s experience.
